  • CalcChat.com has worked-out solutions to all the odd-numbered text exercises from our text, Calculus of a Single Variable, Eighth Edition by Larson, Hostetler and Edwards.  Do not resort to this, however, until you have given a problem your best effort!
  • The College Board Web Site is brimming with information about the AP Exam. Start at AP Central. Go to "The Courses Home Page," find Calculus AB and it will take you to the AP Calculus AB Home Page. Here you will find access to every essay question from 1998 to 2006, along with solutions and scoring guides. It's important to understand how the AP Exam is graded so you can earn the most points for each question. This site is a little difficult to navigate but spend some time here; it's worth the effort.
  •
  • An excellent set of tutorials on all Math subjects, including Calculus, by topic.  They are hosted on YouTube but can be most easily accessed through www.khanacademy.org.
  •
  • The National Curve Bank provides features - for example, animation and interaction - that a printed page cannot offer.  It also includes geometrical, algebraic, and historical aspects of curves.
  • Visual Calculus is a huge site with tutorials that cover most of our curriculum. If you're having a hard time with something we learned in class, you can review the topic here. When you click on the discussion link for each topic, you get a flash demonstration that can be very helpful.
  • Turn on your sound for this site. The tutorials at Tutorials for the Calculus Phobe are especially well done. If you are have difficulties with limits or derivatives, this is the place to go.
  • One of our goals in calculus is to understand the relationship between the graph of a function and its derivative. You can practice drawing derivatives at this site.
  • There's more to math than the parabola. Examine the curves at Famous Curves Index. Equations are given in Cartesian, parametric, and polar forms where appropriate.
  • Volumes of revolution are especially difficult to visualize. A Gallery of Volume Visualizations uses animated gifs to demonstrate volumes found by disks, washers, shells, and cross-sections.
  • Do you feel weak on a particular pre-calculus topic? Is it logarithms? Inverse functions? Don't panic. The University of Idaho offers a series of on-line lectures that run in real player. Just select a topic and sit back and learn.
  • Ever begin your homework and discover what you understood in class is suddenly a little fuzzy? Power Point Lectures for AB and BC Calculus has presentations that re-teach nearly every topic that we cover. At the bottom of the page there's a link to 142 calculus formulas. Who could ask for more?
